2.16 - Alegria Geral
Go to Github ChangelogThis release comes speeding in thanks to 50+ enhancements and 60+ bug fixes, many from community contributors. We’ve also added access to more token types from the design panel, and you can try out the WebGL rendering beta for a faster canvas.
Let’s get into the details.
What's new in Penpot?
Design tokens in the design panel
Big news for our design system aficionados: you can now pick, apply, and see which numeric design tokens are bound to the selected element directly from the design panel.
Major community contributions
The community has kept the Penpot team busy with reviews. Now you can preview saved versions (thanks @wdeveloper16!) and drag to change numeric inputs (thanks @RenzoMXD!) Find even more highlights below.

WebGL rendering (beta)
You can now enable WebGL rendering (beta) from the user settings. This improves canvas performance for complex and heavy files, and enables features like Flatten for text. (Blur background and more coming soon!) We’d love your feedback.
Highlights from community contributors
With so many code and design contributions in this release, it was hard to choose these highlights:
- Loader feedback while importing and exporting files — @moorsecopers99
- Import tokens from a linked library (and more) — @dfelinto
- Find and replace for text content and layer names — @statxc
Clickable links in comments (and more) — @eureka0928
