2.13 - All The Small Things
Go to Github ChangelogIt’s time for our first release of the year, and we’re setting the tone for what’s coming next; improved performance, stronger design system foundations, and new capabilities that unlock better workflows for teams. This release brings two long-requested features the community has been asking for, along with solid improvements under the hood to keep everything fast and smooth.
What's new in Penpot?
Recover deleted files from Trash
Deleting a file no longer means it’s gone forever. The Trash is a dedicated space in the dashboard where deleted files and projects live before being permanently removed. From here, you can recover content deleted by mistake or clean things up for good when you’re sure you don’t need them anymore.

Shadow tokens
Our second composite design token, the Shadow token, is now here. Until now, you couldn’t save shadows as reusable styles. Now you can create reusable, consistent drop shadows and inner shadows, made of one or multiple layers, fully tokenized and ready to scale across your designs

Highlights from community contributors
For this release, @dfelinto discovered and fixed a bug when swapping variants inside a masked component. Thank you for your many bug reports and contributions to open-source software!
We love this Penpot Theme Generator created for the community by Bruno Bezerra. Use the tool to create Penpot-compatible design tokens visually, including generating shades from a color token, and bulk editing tokens.
