Insights you can relate to
Challenge the status quo
Unlike almost any other ambassador program, Penpot Ambassador Program offers a collaborative library where key takeaways and insights find their place.
The unique learning cycles with curated topics means this open library will keep evolving with evergreen content.
Make it for the community
Our plugin ecosystem, GitHub presence, existing contributors and wall of love all contributed towards us building this program confidently. All in an effort to make you and the Penpot community grow!
The right timing
Open-source design and what it represents has been attracting more and more people over the recent years. This looks like the right time to further push the idea of open-source design, with a product and community initiative you can depend on.

What are the requirements?
Within the application form, you will find areas about your experience, both from your line of work but also from community-building perspectives.
We want to see genuine interest and ability to demonstrate certain knowledge when it comes to topics around design, development, open-source and more. The application process is a reflection of these above.
How to apply
We aim to get back to all applications swiftly. It might take some time but we’ll definitely be in touch.
Made it to step four? Congratulations! Your Penpot Ambassador status is with you for at least six months, even longer as long as you remain active.
If you haven’t made it through all four steps, don’t give up! You can re-apply after six months.

Why the waiting list?
The simple answer is to ensure quality and maintain it. However, it's much beyond that:
Equal resources
Even though our resources are limited, we want our Ambassadors to each receive the same amount of care. This is only possible if we go slowly, but steadily.
Longer term impact
Most Ambassador programs chase product education and exposure. This is great but things plateau after a few introductory events or content pieces.
We want to play the long game by focusing on learning as a community instead of shorter term product exposure.
Genuine interest
Not just about Penpot but also design, development or open-source. It's also about being able to move beyond transactional engagements.
Trust
Similar to the second point, trust is essential to go the longer route and it needs time and effort from both sides to work out.
This is one of the main reasons why we are proud of the very first Penpot Ambassadors. Over the year(s), we've come across so many passionate community members who dedicated substantial time and effort in Penpot. It's only fair they get an opportunity to claim their early adopter status but most importantly, the well deserved spotlight.
