We’ve covered a huge amount in this unit on text and typography. There’s a lot to learn, but you’ve now got the knowledge to help you get started with one of the most important aspects of design. Now you’ve just got to experiment, practice, and find your favorite new fonts.
In this unit, we’ve covered:
- Penpot plugins
- Fonts and how to choose them
- How to design typography for UIs and
- How to work with text and fonts in Penpot
Don’t forget what you’ve learned about font licensing and how font file sizes can affect a webpage’s performance. These are the gotchas that have caught me out before, and I don’t want you to repeat those same mistakes.
Further resources
I’ve included some extra resources, links you might find interesting, in the resources section for this video.
If you’ve completed the assignments, you’ve now got two new designs to put in your portfolio and you can share those with the Penpot community. Be sure to share them, please. I’m looking forward to seeing what you came up with.
Next unit, we’ll be diving into color, which is one of my favorite topics. I can’t wait.
