What makes a good design? Especially when you're starting out as a designer, you can find it difficult to work out when a design is good or even just good enough. Many factors are considered good design in Western cultures, desirable aesthetics vary across countries and cultures.
Often the simplest design is the best. Alignment, contrast and pleasing colors are some other factors that elevate your design, and we'll learn more about these later.

Most importantly, a good design is a usable and accessible interface that successful in its goals. Does a user find your interface appealing and intriguing? Can a user accomplish their tasks easily with your design? These are the key questions we should ask.
